An uncommon find. The Order of Sons of Italy in America® (OSIA) (originally, the Ordine Figli d’Italia) was formed in 1905, offering support to Italian immigrants in New York.
This OSIA ring is made of 14k gold and enamel. Well loved, the gold has a warm patina and there is wear to the enamel, light surface abrasions, and some evidence of re-sizing (consult pictures). The ring is very thick and sturdy, weighing a hefty 10 grams.
The face of the ring is 13mm in diameter and depicts a lion over the letters "O.F.D.'I. in A." (for "Ordine Figli D'Italia in America").
Hallmarked: 14k; illegible initials.
