14k gold stickpin with a pear-shaped amethyst cabochon with the bezel set within the coils of a serpent. We believe the hallmarks are attributable to fine jewelry manufacturers Link & Angell, est. 1896, which would place this stickpin within the Victorian era. Victorians associated serpents with "everlasting love," which makes this beautiful stickpin even more significant.
The amethyst cabochon measures 12 x 8 mm (approx. 3.50 cts). The stickpin head measures 7/16" wide by 7/8" long (to the bottom of the snake's head). The entire pin measures 2 5/8" long and weighs 3 grams.
Very good to excellent vintage condition.
Hallmarks: likely Link & Angell; 14k.
