14k gold class ring by Bastian Brothers, a Rochester, New York jewelry company founded in 1895 and incorporated in the early 1900s. This ring bears the date "1917" emblazoned on a shield that forms the face of the ring. The shield measures approximately 9mm wide by 9mm long. The date is framed by crescent moons on either side. There are very faint markings from where, perhaps, the name of a high school was emblazoned. Alas, the name has been lost to time. Under a loupe, we can make out what appears to be the initials "P.L.M." lovingly engraved in cursive on the inside of the band.
The ring is in vintage condition with surface wear throughout; there is evidence of re-sizing. Fully hallmarked for Bastian Brothers ("B.B.CO") and for 14k gold, the ring weighs approximately 3.75 grams.
